When the granules are missing, it exposes the fiberglass mat under the shingles. The fiberglass mat is not waterproof, and you could be developing a slow leak in the boards under your shingles.

It is possible to repair a roof system rather than replace the roof in its entirety. However, regardless of whether the problem is as minor as a few missing shingles or as large as a leak around your chimney, it is essential to get it checked as soon as possible.
