Why Reviews Matter

A roofing company can say a lot about itself, but homeowners usually want to hear from other homeowners first.

We’re proud of the feedback we’ve received because it reflects the parts of the business that matter most to us: honest recommendations, quality workmanship, reliable service, and exceptional customer service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. If your roof still has life left or a repair makes more sense, we’ll tell you. Our goal is to give you a clear recommendation, not sell a replacement you do not need.

In most cases, enhanced roofing system warranties require a qualifying full roofing system installation using specific Owens Corning components. We’ll explain what applies to your project before work begins.

It may give you access to enhanced warranty options, including the Platinum Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty when eligibility requirements are met. Warranty coverage depends on the products selected and the complete roof system installed.

A Platinum Preferred Contractor can provide access to Owens Corning’s strongest roofing system warranty options and is expected to install roofing systems according to manufacturer standards.

Yes. Spade Roofing & Gutters is the only Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor in Bastrop County.

An Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor is part of the top tier of the Owens Corning Roofing Contractor Network. These contractors must meet Owens Corning’s standards for professionalism, reliability, and craftsmanship.

We walk you through the process from start to finish so you always know what to expect.

The process begins with a roof inspection to assess the condition of your roof and provide an estimate. Once a contract is signed and you’ve selected your materials and color, we’ll order the materials and schedule your material delivery and installation date.

On installation day, we begin by removing the existing roof and inspecting the decking underneath. Any necessary repairs are made before installing underlayment, ice and water shield in the valleys, drip edge at the eaves and rakes, and flashing around chimneys, pipes, and vents. We then install your new roofing system, including proper ventilation.

Most residential projects take 1-3 days, depending on the size, material, and complexity of the roof. The job is completed with a final inspection and a thorough cleanup, and all old materials will be hauled off and disposed of in a provided dumpster.

We take steps to protect your property by using tarps and safety equipment, but homeowners can help by moving vehicles, removing fragile items from walls, and keeping pets and children away from the work area during installation.

A roof replacement can be done year-round in Texas. The best time to replace your roof is when it needs attention - especially if there are leaks or storm damage.

It depends on the age and condition of your roof. A worn or damaged roof can raise concerns during inspections and may affect offers or delay closing. In some cases, replacing the roof can improve curb appeal and buyer confidence. In other cases, sometimes a repair may be the better option. A professional inspection can help determine the best approach for your situation.

A properly ventilated roof system requires a balanced combination of intake and exhaust ventilation, size appropriately for the attic space. We replace all vents during installation and assess your current system to ensure you have proper airflow and ventilation for your home.

However, homes with spray foam insulation require a different approach to ventilation depending on how the insulation is installed. If spray foam is applied to the attic floor, traditional attic ventilation is typically still required. However, if the foam is applied to the underside of the roof deck, the attic becomes a conditioned (sealed) space, which typically eliminates the need for traditional attic ventilation.

If you have spray form insulation, let us know during your inspection so we can determine the proper ventilation setup for your home.

Proper attic ventilation is extremely important in Texas. It helps increase trapped heat and moisture, which can extend the life of your roof, improve energy
efficiency, and reduce strain on your HVAC system. Poor ventilation can cause premature shingle aging, voids many manufacturing warranties, and can shorten the life of even a high-quality roofing system.

A roof's lifespan depends on a variety of factors including material type, installation quality, ventilation, storm and sun exposure, and maintenance. In Texas, heat, hail, and wind can shorten a roof's lifespan.

Many asphalt shingle roofs last around 15 to 25 years, while metal roofs often last 40+ years depending on the system. Every roof is different and inspections are the best way to determine how much life your roof may still have.

We offer and specialize in both high-quality shingle and metal roofing systems. As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, we regularly install Owens
Corning shingle systems backed by some of the strongest manufacture warranties available.

If you have a specific product or material in mind, we’re happy to discuss available options and help you choose what best fits your home, style, and budget.

It depends on your specific policy and carrier, but many insurance companies offer discounts for new roofs when a class 3 or 4 impact resistant material are installed. We always recommend checking with your insurance agent to see if any discounts are available and which materials qualify under your policy.

Both metal and shingle roofing are excellent options, and the best choice depends on your budget, style preferences, and long-term goals. Shingle roofs offer strong value, attractive curb appeal, and lower upfront costs. Metal roofs typically cost more upfront, but offer exceptional durability, energy efficiency, and a longer lifespan. In Texas, both systems can perform well with proper installation and attic ventilation.

We believe in honest inspections, clear communication, quality workmanship, and treating every home as if it were our own. If you do not need a roof yet, we will tell you. Our goal is to build long-term trust and relationships with our customers.

Your roof is one of the most important systems of your home, protecting everything underneath it. Roof replacement pricing is influenced by material costs, labor, insurance, safety requirements, tear-off and disposal, roof complexity, ventilation needs, and any decking or structural repairs required.

The main way roofing costs are lowered is by using less expensive materials, reducing the scope of work or leaving out important components. Sometimes a lower bid simply means less is included.

If budget is a concern, we can discuss material options and financing solutions for qualified homeowners. We always recommend comparing long-term value, warranty coverage, and workmanship - not just the lowest upfront price.

Every roofing estimate is different, so it is important to compare more than just price. Materials used, workmanship, warranty coverage, ventilation, insurance, and project details can vary significantly. If one estimate is considerably lower than others, it may include different materials or may not include replacing important components such as underlayment, flashing, ventilation, cleanup, or wood repairs.

We provide detailed estimates so you can clearly understand what is included. We are always happy to review another estimate and explain any differences.
Our goal is to provide you with the best quality and overall value – not simply the cheapest number.

Generally, a homeowners insurance policy covers roof replacement or repairs if the damage is caused by a covered event like hail, wind, or fallen trees. Normal wear and tear or aging is typically not covered.

The extent of your coverage will depend on your specific policy, deductible, and the cause of the damage. Some policies may also have exclusions or limitations.

  • Replacement Cost Value (RCV) covers the full cost to replace a damaged roof, minus the deductible regardless of the roof’s age.
  • Actual Cash Value (ACV) factors in depreciation, reducing the payout based on the roof’s age and condition.
  • Cosmetic roofing exclusion denies coverage for hail or wind damage that affects only the appearance of a roof (dents or scuffs) without compromising its function (water-tightness or structural integrity).

Yes, we regularly assist homeowners through the insurance claim process. If you choose to work with us, we will provide detailed photo-documentation of any storm related damage and help guide you through the insurance claim process. Our goal is to provide you with the best service and help you navigate the insurance process as smoothly and stress-free as possible.

Yes, we can provide a financing application link for homeowners interested in payment options.

Most residential roof replacements are completed in 1 to 2 days, depending on the size of the roof, roof complexity, and whether any decking repairs are needed.

Larger homes, steep roofs, metal roofing systems, multiple existing layers, or hidden decking damage can affect the timeline. We’ll provide a projected schedule before we begin and keep you informed throughout the project with clear communication.

  • Some key signs of storm or hail damage on a roof include:
    • Dented gutters, vents, or other metal flashings.
    • Visible spots of missing granules.
    • Exposed shingle mats or cracked/broken shingles.
  • The size of the hail and age of your roof both play an important role in how much damage may have occurred and whether an insurance claim is warranted.
  • 0.5”-0.75” (marble-size): may cause granule loss on older shingles, but is often below the threshold of an insurance claim.
  • 1” (quarter size): begins to cause functional damage and typically warrants a claim.
  • 1.5”+ (ping-pong ball and larger): widespread functional damage and almost always calls for a full replacement.

A roof replacement in Bastrop County can vary significantly depending on several factors including the size of the roof, pitch, material selected, number of tear-off layers, ventilation needs, and whether any decking repairs are needed.

As a general range, a typical asphalt shingle roof may cost anywhere from $7,000 to $15,000+, while a standing seam metal roof may range from $15,000 to $25,000+.

Keep in mind that no two roofs are exactly alike, and many variables affect the final price. We provide detailed, customized estimates so you know exactly what is included and can choose the right roofing system for your home and budget.

Yes, we provide complimentary roof inspections. During your roof inspection we will assess the overall condition of your roof and look for any storm damage, leaks, aging, ventilation concerns, and any areas that may need attention. After the inspection, we will clearly explain our findings and provide honest recommendations based on what is best for your roof.

Quality asphalt shingles can last 20-25 years in the Texas heat, while metal roofing can last 40+ years. Proper installation, ventilation, and maintenance significantly impact lifespan.
